Hong Kong

What's hot!

Isola Bar and Grill

Isola means island, of course. It also means the largest, whitest, spaciest new restaurant in the IFC bulding, the tallest, zoomiest, sparkliest new icon on the space age Stonehenge that is Hong Kong's towering skyline.

Hop off the Star Ferry from Kowloon, turn right and head for it in time for a smart casual drink in the bar, a schmicky afternoon tea or romantic supper on the terrace of Isola bar + grill.

Loved the thin-crusted truffle and stracchino pizza, and the perfectly sliced prosciutto on the antipasto bar. Other cooking is hit-and-miss, but the scene is great, and the upstairs bar is quite the best looking bar I have seen for years (and I have seen a few), a mix of rustic wooden floors, high-tech views and sadistically studded chairs that will bowl you over.
